Auctioneers DON'T need to know the value of your items.  They let the buyers/bidders determine the selling price.
 
PRICE
We price and sell your items at a fair price.  Our buyers are looking for amazing items at a fair price.
Auction houses hope that there are at least 2 or more buyers interested enough in your item to drive it up to a fair price.  Buyers typically have to pay a buyer's premium to the auction house as well so buyers must keep that fee in mind when placing a bid.
 
TIME TO SELL
3-4 days and in some cases even more time to find at least 1 (if not more) interested buyers
It all comes down to the last seconds before bid close
